报告摘要：We discuss recent investigations of constructions of non-super\-symmetric models in string theory.  We start from the non-supersymmetric heterotic SO(16)xSO(16) in ten dimensions and describe its compactification on smooth and singular manifolds.  We show that it is possible to get models that look quite similar to the Standard Model of particle physics.  However, understanding the cosmological constant in such constructions is a major challenge for future research
