Title: Action Formulation for Self-dual Gauge Field and M5 Brane

Abstract:
The action formulation for self-dual gauge fields is known to be tricky. One way to achieve this is by giving up the manifest covariance. We will demonstrate how this technique works, how to couple the theory to gravity, and how to apply this method to obtain the full single M5-brane action. Various different formulations will be presented and their different features will be discussed.
